John Shuttleworth headlines anti-supermarket gig
John Shuttleworth, the comic alter ego of Louth resident Graham Fellows, will headline a special gig to be held at Louth Town Hall to raise funds for the Keep Louth Special campaign.
The campaign is at the forefront of the fight to stop a supermarket being built on the Cattle Market.
The Keep Louth Special SPECIAL will take place on Sunday February 8th at 7.30pm, and will include video appearances from actor Jim Broadbent and singer Barbara Dickson, as well as local acts.
Graham Fellows, who will be in the middle of a nationwide tour at the time of the event, supports the Keep Louth Special campaign because he believes that the town’s unique character needs to be preserved.
Graham said: “I don’t want to see a giant supermarket in Louth, because the small shops will be threatened.”
Local shops have been invited to sponsor the event, and already the response has been very encouraging.
Tickets for the event are on sale at Off the Beaten Track on Aswell Street and Perkins’ Pantry on Mercer Row.
