    What YOU can do

    To keep Louth special

    * Write to or e-mail your ELDC councillor

    (if you don’t know who that is click here for our councillor-finder page)

    * Write to or e-mail your county and town councillor

    (We would prefer if you use your own words, but click here to fill in our pro-forma printable letter which summarises some of the arguments.)

    * Write to your MP

    For Louth and Horncastle:

    Sir Peter Tapsell MP

    House of Commons

    * Contact the town centre manager

    Mark Barnes was appointed in September 2009, primarily to work with local businesses, and establish a town centre partnership. However, he is a good listener for anyone who wants to help support the town, or has positive ideas. He can be reached on 01507 601111 x449, on 07917 628149 or on
    email

    * Join Keep Louth Special

    (e-mail us at join@keeplouthspecial.org.uk. It’s free, but if you feel like donating a sum to help our campaign, please make a cheque payable to Keep Louth Special and post it to 7, Mercer Row, Louth, Lincs LN11 9JG

    * Sign our petition

    (Available in many small stores in Louth, or print off a blank sheet online here and after filling it out post to us at 7, Mercer Row, Louth, Lincs LN11 9JG)

    * Spread the word

    This is a community campaign. By spreading the word, talking to friends, neighbours, work colleagues and visitors to the town, we can build a popular movement to ensure that everyone understands what damage the arrival of a new supermarket would cause the town, and how they can make their voices heard.

    * Traders and shopkeepers

    Keep Louth Special particularly welcomes the support and encouragement of retailers and other business people in Louth. Even if you are too busy to attend meetings, by hosting a petition, by putting up a poster in your window or by mentioning the issues to your customers you will help us. Remember, our volunteers are giving up their time to help save YOUR businesses. Your support and appreciation is vital.
